HOW DO I BOOK?

WHAT ABOUT CHECK-IN AND CHECK-OUT TIMES?
Check in is anytime after 3:00pm and check out is promptly by 12:00pm.
HOW BIG IS THE COTTAGE?
The cottage has 3 bedrooms. Two bedrooms have double beds and the third has single bunk beds. The bunk beds are for use by kids only. We also have a sleeper sofa that pulls out to a double bed. We allow up to 6 guests on the property at any given time and no parties are permitted at any time, sorry.
IS THE LAKE SAFE FOR SWIMMING?
Graham Lake is perfectly safe for swimming. It is a natural, shallow lake, which means it does have lake weeds. At the cottage, we have a shallow, sandy area which is perfect for wading or swimming with small kids. Beyond this area is a section that is lined with a weed protector to prevent the growth of weeds in this area as best as possible. We monitor this area as best as we can in between guests to keep it free of lake weed that may have washed ashore from the wind or wake. We cannot fully maintain the water, however, and cannot guarantee that it is weed-free at all times.
You may find lake weed near the shore or near the dock that has been washed up by the wind or wake during your stay. Not to worry! These weeds can easily be removed so that you can continue enjoying the lake. The water in the shallow area has a sandy bottom that extends about 15 feet, and a weed protecting liner that extends about another 15 feet; but you may find weeds growing as you go out further. Unfortunately, we cannot monitor or remove the weeds beyond the sandy area. This is one thing about the property that we cannot control, and instead we admire the natural ecosystem that is thriving in Graham Lake, providing all sorts of fish and aquatic wildlife species a home and food!
WHAT ABOUT FISHING?
Graham Lake was made for fishing! It is home to many different fish species including large and smallmouth bass, crappie, bluegill, northern pike, and yellow perch. So pack your fishing poles! Graham Lake is naturally a perfect place for fishing and reconnecting to nature. You can buy your fishing license online at the address below, or at any Service Ontario location.
DO YOU HAVE CANOES OR KAYAKS?
No, we do not provide any type of watercraft for the safety of our guests and for liability purposes. However, we do encourage you to bring your own! We have a private dock where you can launch your kayaks, canoes, and other small watercraft, and Graham Lake also has a public boat launch for larger boats.
CAN I BRING MY DOG WITH?
In an effort to maintain an allergy-free and ultra clean space for our guests, we only allow non-shedding/hypoallergenic dog breeds that are less than 30 pounds. We’re dog people, so we get that it’s important to have your fur baby nearby during your vacation! If your dog doesn’t fall under this criteria, there is a great dog boarding facility just 10 minutes down the road, on your way to the cottage from the 401. We recommend booking with them and have included their information below. Cats and other animals are not permitted at the cottage under any circumstances.
WHAT SHOULD I PACK?
We provide [almost] everything you need to enjoy a relaxing stay on the lake. All you need to bring is linens, blankets, towels, food, and personal items.
The cottage is fully equipped and stocked with:
All kitchen utensils
Coffee | regular and decaf
Salt & Pepper
Electric tea kettle
6 Muskoka chairs
Two camping chairs
Marshmallow roasting sticks
IS THERE WI-FI?
Yes, there is wi-fi for those of you who like to stay connected. The wi-fi password is posted in the cottage. However, you’ll find that Graham Lake Cottage is a perfect place to disconnect from the world and reconnect to nature, to yourself, and your family and friends. We have very limited data at the cottage, so ask that you use it mindfully and turn off all streaming devices when not in use.
WHAT ABOUT A TV?
Yes, we have that too! There is a smart TV in the living room and you’ll have access to Netflix. We do not have cable.
AND HOW ABOUT A BBQ?
Of course! We’re year-round grillers, so a BBQ is a must. We supply the propane tank and will always try our best to keep it full for our guests (but cannot guarantee endless propane for your entire stay). We have two propane tanks, so if you run out, you can always exchange one of them at Lucky Loon Campground next door! We will cover the cost of propane exchanges. We also have all the necessary grilling utensils needed for your cookouts.
IS THE TAP WATER SAFE TO DRINK?
Yes, our tap water has recently been tested and is indeed safe for drinking. We also have a water cooler that dispenses cold spring water, and will keep a couple extra jugs on hand so you’ll have plenty of fresh water to drink during your stay.
IS THERE A FIRE PIT?
Yes! We have a fire pit right on the lake, so you can enjoy sunsets and roast marshmallows with the quiet sounds of Graham Lake in the background. We have an active open air burn permit from Front of Yonge Township, which allows us to have campfires up to 3 feet in diameter. Nothing aside from firewood should be burned, and we supply enough of that to get you started! Depending on how much wood you burn, you may need to run into town to stock up. We will advise you of any fire risks or burn bans in the area.
WILL YOU BE AT THE COTTAGE WHEN WE CHECK IN?
No, we give our guests privacy during their entire stay. Upon arrival, you will access the cottage using a key that is stored in our lock box. Your unique lock box code is shared with you 24 hours prior to check-in. We are available 24/7 should any issues or questions arise during your stay and can be reached via text, phone call, or email. Our contact information will be shared with you in our welcome book located in the cottage. We also have a local family who keep an eye on the property for us, and is available should you need any on-site assistance.
IS THERE A GROCERY STORE NEARBY?
Yes, there is a small grocery store and LCBO just 10 minutes from the cottage in Mallorytown. They have all the basics you’ll need for your stay, plus a deli and bakery. It’s a great little small-town grocery with some of the nicest people you’ll meet! This is right on your way to the cottage from the 401 if you’re coming from the west. You can also run into Brockville for a bigger grocery selection.
4 Quabbin Rd, Mallorytown
IS THERE CELL SERVICE AT THE COTTAGE?
It’s complicated. Cell phone service is very spotty at the cottage, due to the remote location. You may have service if you’re outside or in certain spots in the cottage, but don’t forget that you’ll have wi-fi in case you need to stay connected. Graham Lake Cottage is a bit off the grid when it comes to cell service, but we like it that way!
DO YOU HAVE NEIGHBOURS?
We do! There are 20 properties on Kerry Forest Drive and we’re a tight-knit community. There is a mix of seasonal properties and year-round residents, so while you’ll have plenty of privacy, there is comfort in knowing that there are people around. There is a line of trees and a fence on either side of us, making our property private from our neighbours. While our cottages are close in proximity, they are very respectful of our privacy and very kind neighbours!
IS THERE AN AGE REQUIREMENT FOR RENTING?
Yep, there is. We do not rent to anyone under 21 years of age. Thank you for understanding!
IS THERE A WASHER & DRYER AT THE COTTAGE?
No, unfortunately we do not have a washer and dryer. However, there are a few laundromats in Brockville, should you need to do laundry during your stay.
IS THERE ANYTHING TO DO IN THE AREA?
Yes, the cottage is situated in the 1000 Islands region, which is a hub for tourist attractions, provincial parks, great golfing, and other fun stuff! You may find, however, that you want to park yourself at the lake for your entire stay, and that’s okay too! If you’re up for an adventure, check out some of the recommended spots below.
